Ship/Shore-Based Aviation Requirements (SSAR)
The SSAR application replaces the use of Facility Requirement Documents currently
used in the procurement of new aviation systems, deployment of current and future
aviation systems to ship and shore locations, and construction of new facilities.
SSAR is a web application housed on a Navy server and accessed through a secure link.
The SSAR database provides two new major capabilities. The first is to standardize the
way facilities requirements data is compiled and presented. This is done by the creation
of a template which defines the information needed and to what level of detail. The
standardization of facilities requirements within the database allows users to easily
locate data.
The second capability is to increase access to facilities requirements information by
creating a web-based application. The SSAR database is a secure, searchable, scalable,
and customizable repository for facilities requirements information. This new database
allows increased access and faster reporting of facilities requirements data by the user.
The database allows the user to search for specific identified facility attributes for the
particular air system(s).
