USN Operational Test and Evaluation Force Squadron

USN Operational Test and Evaluation Force Squadron VX-1

Based on the success of the VX-9 TIMS, the US Navy selected Holmes-Tucker International, Inc., to develop and implement a similar system to support operational testing (OT) at Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VX-1), Patuxent River, MD. This Microsoft Access server-based tool is now being used to develop, coordinate, publish, and maintain operational test plans, schedules, test data cards and flight test results for a number of VX-1 programs. The debrief tool set provides "paperless" flight test debriefing and prompts the test mission participants to ensure results and observations are captured for all objectives during each phase of testing. The VX-1 TIMS incorporates a complete Operational Test Director's (OTD) reference library; full production capability for test plans, test data cards and test reports; resources and schedule sub-modules and a repository for all OTD guides and reference information. The TIMS also provides an automated interface to NALCOMIS that facilitates collection and scoring of Reliability, Maintainability, Availability (RMA) data for test reports, and scoring of Maintenance Action Forms. The VX-1 TIMS incorporates a questionnaire tool and several new interfaces to automate test data collection, allowing the test team to import data directly from various USN infrastructure systems.

The TIMS successfully supported the MH-60S's OPEVAL, MH-60R OT-IIA and OPEVAL, the KC-130J OT-IIIAB/OT-IIIC1/OT-IIIC2, the MH-60S Armed Helicopter OPEVAL, Follow On Test and Evaluation (FOT&E) of the MH-60R and MH-60S.

Other systems currently in test include: MH-60S OAMCM, P-3 IEER and the Firescout UAV..

H-T has two on-site systems administrators at VX-1 who receive direct technical support from the Hampton , VA , office.
